Crowns
Crowns are often referred to as “caps” since they cover and protect the entire outer surface of the prepared tooth structure, like a baseball cap fits over ones head.
Crowns are needed when the tooth structure is weak or teeth have been fractured. They provide support and stability for your teeth. They are often used to replace large amalgam fillings, fractured teeth or teeth that have undergone root canal treatment.
We use the highest quality dental material to ensure that your crowns are perfect in every way and more importantly indistinguishable from the surrounding teeth.
A simple treatment.
Fitting a crown normally needs a couple of visits to us while we first clean up the existing tooth and reshape it to receive its crown, or fit a dental implant. For your next visit, we’ll have the crown ready for you to check. If it’s OK, then we’ll cement it in place.
Long lasting
If you treat your new crown like your normal teeth, brushing, flossing and rinsing regularly, it could last you 15 years or more.
If you have a damaged tooth and want to know more about how crowns can protect it while improving its appearance, call Priory Dental Clinic and we can arrange an initial consultation.
