Has your smile lost its sparkle? Does it feel a little dull, dark or discoloured? Would you like to restore a fresh, clean appearance to your teeth, allowing you to smile with confidence? If so, find out more about our affordable, fast working whitening treatments available in-surgery or for you to take home.
Tooth whitening is one of the quickest, most comfortable and affordable ways to transform your smile- and the professional Whitening treatments, including Phillips Zoom and Enlighten Evolution, available now at Priory Dental are no exception. We offer some of the most advanced teeth whitening in Kenilworth, and we see various patients from Coventry and the surrounding area. You’ll be amazed at the difference it could make.
I don’t want my teeth to look overly white!
The great thing about tooth whitening is that we can tailor it to your requirements. Whether you want dramatic or subtle results we can help you. Some people want a really white finish while others prefer to whiten their teeth by just a shade or two.
In-surgery Whitening
For those looking for a dramatic transformation due to heavy staining our in-surgery whitening is probably more appropriate for you. Convenient and quick it will allow us to whiten your smile in around one hour.
Once your gums have been protected we will apply the gel directly to your teeth using a UV light to accelerate the whitening process – allowing you to leave the surgery with a stunning new smile in the same day!
The products we offer are extremely popular and regularly used worldwide by millions of people who seek a healthy and safe way to whiten their teeth. An added bonus to tooth whitening is that it can often help to improve the quality of your tooth enamel – meaning that many patients find their teeth actually feel healthier, stronger and less sensitive following treatment.
Enlighten Evolution is also the only tooth whitening system in the world to guarantee VITA shade B1.
At home whitening kits
If you would prefer to whiten your teeth at home then we can provide a home whitening kit. The tailor made trays (carefully produced from impressions of your teeth) will fit snugly ensuring that all teeth are evenly covered and that the gel avoids your gums. Simply use these trays for a few hours each day as and when you want to.
Many people notice results from the first application. While we advise using the trays every day for around two weeks some patients choose to use them every other day (or less) and will keep going until they achieve their desired shade of white.
With our home-whitening kits, once your tooth trays have been produced it is possible for you to purchase extra whitening gels as required so that you can give teeth a little boost of whiteness in the future.
They are the ideal choice for anyone looking for more subtle results.
Why have my teeth discoloured?
Almost everyone’s teeth will darken with age. While often it is simply a case of genetics, a major contributor to the speed of this process is our consumption of highly staining food and drink. There are many, but those more commonly known items include coffee, tea and fizzy drinks. Smoking can also greatly contribute to the staining of teeth.
Teeth can also become discoloured due to damage, past dental treatments such as large fillings or root canal and certain medications including tetracycline, doxycycline and chemotherapy treatment.
Even with excellent daily tooth cleaning these stains can’t be removed as they penetrate deep into the enamel of our teeth. That’s why only professional whitening can help to fully remove them.
Getting the most from your tooth whitening treatment
Unfortunately, no tooth whitening treatment is permanent and your teeth will start to discolour again over time. The speed of this process will depend on your lifestyle, diet and tooth brushing habits!
Be aware of the foods you eat and always brush your teeth. Cutting down on smoking can significantly help to stop the staining process.
Which teeth will not be affected by whitening?
Remember that any ‘false’ teeth such as white fillings, crowns, bridges or other composite repairs won’t be affected by bleaching – although it is possible to have them replaced (at an extra cost) so that they match.
It is possible for us to treat damaged or root filled teeth although if there is a significant difference in shade a root filled tooth may require an additional dosage.
